Neurosurgery offers unique direct access to the human brain. Basic advances in Cognitive Neuroscience and Brain Imaging provide the potential for improvement in clinical care and research in Neurosurgery, just as the access to the brain afforded by neurosurgeons offers potential for significant advances in Cognitive Neuroscience.

The International Symposium on Cognitive Neurosurgery (ISCNS) intends to bring together leading specialists in Cognitive Neuroscience, Brain Imaging and Neurosurgery.

This Symposium provides a forum for discussion of the fruitful combination of Cognitive Neuroscience and Neurosurgery, making a seminal contribution to the new research field of Cognitive Neurosurgery.
